Mechanical Drafter Duties and Responsibilities
- 1. Design simple extrusion workstations and enclosures
- 2. Assist in creating users manuals
- 3. Assist in creating in assembly instructions
- 4. Work with mechanical and controls engineer in completing assemblies
- 5. Generate component and assembly fabrication drawings, work instructions, and quality control procedures
- 6. Assist in assembly, testing, and documentation of automation/machinery components and systems
- 7. Perform Quality Assurance on components manufactured in-house or purchased from vendors
Qualifications
- 1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field. Experience with designing and upgrading automated equipment, working in a team environment, and working on multiple projects at once
- 2. Knowledge of machining and assembly tools, equipment, and techniques
- 3. Fluency with a CAD software package such or SolidWorks to assist with design of components
- 4. Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and electronic devices commonly used in automated equipment Ability to accurately and precisely generate manufacturing and assembly prints per ASME 14.5Y-2009
- 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
- 6. At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the industry
