Mechanical Drafter Duties and Responsibilities

  1. 1. Design simple extrusion workstations and enclosures
  2. 2. Assist in creating users manuals
  3. 3. Assist in creating in assembly instructions
  4. 4. Work with mechanical and controls engineer in completing assemblies
  5. 5. Generate component and assembly fabrication drawings, work instructions, and quality control procedures
  6. 6. Assist in assembly, testing, and documentation of automation/machinery components and systems
  7. 7. Perform Quality Assurance on components manufactured in-house or purchased from vendors

 

Qualifications 

  1. 1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.  Experience with designing and upgrading automated equipment, working in a team environment, and working on multiple projects at once
  2. 2. Knowledge of machining and assembly tools, equipment, and techniques
  3. 3. Fluency with a CAD software package such or SolidWorks to assist with design of components
  4. 4. Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and electronic devices commonly used in automated equipment Ability to accurately and precisely generate manufacturing and assembly prints per ASME 14.5Y-2009
  5. 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  6. 6. At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the industry
